Aerobar Question

Back when I was using my Franken-bike, I was using fold-down aerobars (the kind that spring upright when not in use). When down, they rested on the handlebars and made little gouges. Then, I wasn't worried, since you can't hurt a tank.

With the new bike, I'm leery of using these - I don't want to scratch the pretty paint, you know?

I'm wondering if any of you with the same type of aerobars pad them in any way to prevent this gouging, or do you just live with it?

Hey Bryan, I think you should take a look at all of the different types of aerobars out there. I'm not sure what your "Franken-Bike" had, but I'm using Profile aeros that flip up when not in use and when they fold down, they don't touch the handlebar. So no gouging or paint-chipping issues...

Just wrap the section of the handlebar that they touch with Duct Tape...duct tape rocks!
