Team Home Base

The Duluth Composite High School Mountain Biking Team (DCT) practices regularly at the Lester-Amity Chalet during their July-October season. Give them a wave if you see them gathered for practice out front!

Restoring the Chalet

Built in 1960, the Lester-Amity Chalet has a rich history of outdoor recreation. Over the years, it has served as a home to cross country skiers, ski jumpers, hockey players and sliding enthusiasts. A group of volunteers is currently restoring the chalet as a community gathering place for a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
Many restoration projects have already been completed, such as furnaces, electrical system upgrades, windows, bathrooms, and fireplace.  We also have a solar panel grid immediately outside the Chalet, which generates enough electricity to cover 75% of the electrical energy/costs for lighting the ski trails at Lester-Amity!
