KIDSKI – Learn 2 SKI Mission
Kids ages 2.5 and up - Skiers of all abilities are welcome!
DXC KidSki’s mission is to provide and introduce ski activities and inspire a love of cross-country skiing to keep our children healthy and active. With long cold winters, getting children to participate in outdoor activities is essential to creating a lifestyle, that offers a balance to counter all the media challenges we face in todays world.
Skiing is a low impact, affordable activity that offers something for all levels of skiers. KidSki emphasizes a fun, game-based approach to learning how to ski, and is staffed by volunteers who donate their time to share their passion, talents and the love of skiing.

Sunday KidSki at Grand Avenue Nordic:
January 5th to February 9th
SUNDAYS @ 2:00pm - 3:30pm

Sunday Ski-Play at Grand Avenue Nordic:
January 5th to February 9th
SUNDAYS @ 1:30pm - 2:30pm

Tuesday KidSki at Lester-Amity Chalet:
January 14th to February 11th
TUESDAYS @ 3:00pm - 4:30pm (supervision till 5pm)

KIDSKI PROGRAM FEES:
Fees: includes Sprit Mountain Nordic day pass, DXC knit hat, six lessons, all instruction, hot chocolate and snacks during lessons.

PARENT SKI:
Only available at Grand Ave Location! Parents/guardians interested in learning to ski while their kids are participating in KidSki can also register for ParentSki! Fee includes Sprit Mountain Nordic day pass, DXC knit hat, six lessons, all instruction. We do not have adult cross country skis available for rent.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT
Ski equipment is available for rental. While KidSki is in session, families can come to the Grand Ave Chalet and check out their skis at any time (except Tuesdays). Thanks to a grant from the Young Athletes Foundation, we have more kids’ skis available for rent this year!

Ski-Play Lessons for Toddlers
Kids ages 2.5-4 (Parent Assist Required) DXC will provide strap-on skis.
At what age do you think kids are ready to strap on skis?
If you're a parent who's counting down the days “till your toddler can ski,” take off the pressure. Our Ski-Play program is for 2.5 to 4 year-olds, and incorporates snow play with the opportunity to put on strap skis to practice balance and sliding on short sections of snow under the guidance of the instructors and assistance from parents.
Technique is not a big piece of the first introduction, these little people need nothing more than exposure to being on skis, combined with snow play time and friends to inspire them. Thanks to the CXC Nordic Rocks program, we have a large supply of strap-on skis available!

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR KidSki & Ski-Play:
DXC is proud to support skiing in the Duluth community by providing scholarships for KidSki. Families who qualify for free and reduced lunch or for a county, state, or federal assistance program are eligible for the scholarship rate. Please send relevant documentation to dxckidsski@gmail.com and we will send you a link to register under the scholarship rate, which is $15.

Children who receive a scholarship will also receive free ski rental.
COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteer help is needed! You will be given the option to volunteer to help with KidSki during registration; your help is essential to KidSki's success, so please consider pitching in! You can return to your registration at any time to become a volunteer. Within the registration section below, you can read more about the different roles DXC needs help with, and sign up. We especially need volunteer coaches and also parents to be present in the chalet for any kids who need to come inside because they’re cold or tired. Even if you can only volunteer for one day, we will gladly welcome your help. We appreciate you!!!
