JUNIOR TRAINING

North XC Juniors - Fall 2019

 

Ski season is fast approaching and we have some great workouts scheduled to get you moving like a skier. 

 

Date: Thursday, October 17th of MEA weekend

Location: Grand Avenue Nordic Center

Time: 9AM to Noon

Activity:  Easy combo classic rollerski and trail run/hike

Ski from Grand Ave Nordic Center to Munger trail.  Ski on the Munger Trail to Beck’s Road, then switch to running shoes and run/hike back to Grand Avenue Chalet.  About 2.5 to 3 hours

 

Date: Saturday, November 2nd 

Location: Jay Cooke State Park - E Palkie Road parking lot: take HWY35 south to HWY 61.  Take HWY 61 East until Jay Cooke Road,  take a left on Jay Cooke Road.  Drive to E Palkie Road.  Dirt turn around and Munger trail located at the end of road.  

Time: 9AM to Noon

Activity: Easy combo classic roller ski and trail run/hike with poles. About 2.5 to 3 hours.

 

Wednesday Nights: Under the lights at Chester Bowl

Dates: Oct 30th and November 6th

Time: 5PM to 6:15PM

Location: Meet at Playground at Chester Bowl

Equipment: Bounding poles and running shoes

Activity: Ski Imitation and strength/agility

 

October 23rd NEW LOCATION:

Location: Munger trailhead - located behind the Munger Inn
Time: 4:30PM to 6PM
Work-out plan:  Skate roller ski with specific strength.   

 

All are welcome to these fall workout sessions, even your friends.  A waiver will be needed to participate in NorthXC workout sessions.  Please sign the waiver and bring it to the first session you attend.  There will be waivers and copies at practices, but most of you will need your parents’ signature. The waiver is also on the NorthXC website.
