Birkie Training Group
With fewer weekly training group opportunities available this season, DXC is stepping up to fill the gap. We’re excited to offer our Birkie Training Group designed to help skiers build strength, fitness, and community throughout the winter.
While registration for American Birkebeiner is not required, our training timeline is built to align with the event — and it gives our group a great name!
What to Expect:
-
Structured Group Training: Focused on interval-based workouts designed to build strength and endurance.
-
Progressive Program: Starting with a dryland phase featuring core work, plyometrics, and intervals, then shifting to on-snow intervals as conditions allow.
-
Coaching Support: While advanced, individualized coaching and formal technique sessions are not included, our qualified coaches will offer guidance and technique tips throughout to the group.
-
Not a Learn-to-Ski Program: This group is intended for skiers looking to train seriously with others — not beginners. If you're interested in learn-to-ski lessons please head over to our Adult Ski Classes.
-
Community & Motivation: A great way to meet fellow skiers and racers while staying accountable to your training goals.
Whether you’re racing the Birkie or simply aiming to take your skiing to the next level, this group offers an excellent way to train hard, stay accountable, and connect with Duluth’s great ski community.
