Beginner Coach Job Description

Need for an Additional Beginner Ski Coach – DXC (Starting Winter Season of 2026/27)

Due to continued high interest in beginner cross-country ski programming, DXC is seeking to add an additional Adult Beginner Ski Coach for the upcoming winter season. This coach will lead weekly Level 1 adult lessons for new skiers, creating a welcoming and supportive environment while teaching the fundamentals of classic and/or skate skiing. Responsibilities include planning engaging beginner lessons, adapting instruction to participant needs and conditions, providing individualized feedback, and helping foster a positive first experience that encourages continued participation in DXC programs.

The ideal candidate is proficient in both classic and skate skiing, enjoys working with beginner adult learners, and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and enthusiasm for growing the sport. Experience teaching or coaching cross-country skiing is needed, and a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 100 Coaching Certification (or the willingness to obtain one) is preferred.

Compensation: $80 per session for a 6-week program, meeting once per week, beginning the first week of January.
